Magnetism - Magnets are usually made of iron or steel. Pieces of metal, like small nails and pins, stick to them as though they are glued.Magnets are made in factories,

Radioactivity - The Nuclei of some atoms are radioactive. This means that they are unstable and will break-up over time. Most elements have unstable forms and are called radioisotopes. As they break-up they give out three types of radiation: alpha, beta and gamma rays.

Elements - The Ancient Greek philosophers believed that there were just four elements: earth, fire, air and water. An element is a substance made only of one kind of atom.
